Hi, and welcome to my website.  I am currently teaching 4th grade at McKinley Elementary in Canon City, CO.  I have lived in Canon City for 19 years, and this fall is the start of my 9th year of teaching. 

Most of my family lives in Colorado, although my uncle lives in Dallas, TX and my cousin lives in Farmville, NC.   My mom has been the owner of Hobby Hut Ceramics in Canon City for 9 years.  My dad is a software engineering consultant and travels to New York City on a weekly basis.  I have a younger brother who is married and lives in Fort Collins, CO.  He is a P.E. teacher at Bennett IB World Elementary.  His wife is a cashier at King Soopers as a cashier.  I have two nephews, Charlie, 2 1/2 years old, and Sean, 9 months old.  I have a cocker spaniel named Copper, who is 4 years old.  I flew to Indianapolis, Indiana on Valentine’s Day in 2004 to pick up Copper from CM Cocker Pups.

I have lived in Canon City, CO for most of my life.  My family moved from Colorado Springs, CO to Canon City when I was 8 years old.  I attended St. Michael’s Catholic School for third grade, Harrison Elementary for fourth and fifth grade, and Skyline Elementary for sixth grade.  I graduated from Canon City High School in 1994.  In 1998 I graduated from Western State College in Gunnison, CO, with a Bachelor of Arts and a minor in Elementary Education.  I received my Master of Science in Integrating Technology into the Classroom in 2005 from Walden University.

I worked at the Canon City Public Library as the Children's Librarian before starting my teaching career at McKinley Elementary.  In 1999, my teaching career began in Canon City, CO at McKinley Elementary where I taught Title One for three years.  In 2002, I transferred to a classroom position teaching fourth grade.  The following year I was asked to teach sixth grade math.  Then in 2004, I transferred back to fourth grade and have been teaching fourth grade ever since. 

My interests including spending time with my family, furthering my education, reading, ceramics, stamping, scrapbooking, and playing with Copper. I also teach part-time at PCC-Fremont in the evenings and tutor middle-school and high-school math through Algebra.
